I’m interested in working as a director with writers to develop their new scripts, and in directing brand new versions of older plays, including devised adaptations.
I work in a collaborative, active way which embraces ideas of embodied research and uses improvisation as a constant tool. This is inspired by practitioners like Emma Rice and Keith Johnstone.
I’m interested also in the role of the director as a leadership figure within a team, and am a keen student of the practices of collaborative leaders. Recently, I’ve been learning about the methodology of the basketball coach Phil Jackson, who used mindfulness techniques inspired by Zen Buddhism to empower and motivate the teams he was coaching.
I’m available for directing and assistant directing work. Please get in touch if you would like to further discuss your project, script, or upcoming R&D process: [email protected]
